Welcome to Excel Genetics

Excel Genetics is owned by Cass and Geoff Steinbeck and is based at Dungowan near Tamworth in northern New South Wales. Our program is based on breeding Gelbvieh, Angus & Balancer cattle that meet production related selection criteria. The focus being on producing multi traited cattle excelling in both maternal and performance traits.

Gelbvieh, Angus and Balancer ( Gelbvieh X Angus ) cattle provide both us and our clients with the production traits we are seeking. The Gelbvieh  give us our fertility and performance, the Angus, performance and carcass and the Balancer is the combination of all the great traits these two breeds offer.

All females are A.I bred , and extensive use  of Embryo transfer has allowed us to identify trait leading females and multiply the genetics. All donor work is done on farm by our resident E.T vet Dr Stuart Scott , with all the embryos placed in co operator herds and bought back as yearlings.

Gelbvieh, Angus & Balancer Bulls and heifers are available at our annual sale held in June, and some for private treaty. Semen and embryos are also available through our Artificial Breeding business that also offers E.T work, donor management, A.I programs and semen collection and processing.
